What does ‘Luggage and Personal Effects’ mean in travel insurance?
‘Luggage and Personal Effects’ refer to your personal items that you own and take with you, or buy during your trip, which are designed to be worn or carried. This can include:
- Clothing
- Personal jewellery
- Cameras, video equipment, and laptops
- Electrical devices and portable equipment
Some things aren’t included, like bicycles (which can be covered under the Bicycle Pack), passports, travel documents, cash, furniture, or goods you plan to sell. Only items that fit the policy definition may be eligible for cover under the Luggage and Personal Effects benefit.
Every claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be paid if it meets the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before you travel.
