Can I choose my own doctor if I get sick or injured?
You are free to choose your own medical practitioner, or we can appoint an approved medical practitioner to see you if you are sick or injured overseas and your claim is covered under the policy. However, if you are treated under a Reciprocal Health Agreement, it may not be possible to choose your own medical practitioner.
Note:
- You must advise us of your admittance to hospital or your early return to Australia based on written medical advice and our approval.
- If you don't get the medical treatment you expect, we can assist you, however we accept no responsibiity for any problems that result from you choosing your own doctor.
As each individual’s circumstances are different, in the event ofa claim, our claims team will assess each claim on a case by case basis
