Can I go to a private hospital or do I have to go to a public hospital?

If you are injured or seriously unwell, you should go to the nearest public hospital for treatment and contact the Emergency Assistance team as soon as you are able, so they can assist with your care.

If you do not know where the nearest public hospital is, you should contact the Emergency Assistance Team for advice.
If you do not know where the nearest public hospital is, and due to your injury or sickness it is not possible for you to contact the Emergency Assistance Team immediately, you should go to the nearest hospital, even if it is a private hospital. You should then contact the Emergency Assistance team as soon as you are able to so they can assist with your care.
The Claims team assess every claim on a case by case basis, and the outcome of your claim will depend on your specific situation.
