Does Fast Cover travel insurance cover natural disasters?

Fast Cover travel insurance can cover natural disaster related events, but it depends on when the event occurs and how it affects your trip.

Under the Fast Cover Travel Insurance PDS, natural disasters such as floods, bushfires, earthquakes, or storms may be covered if they are unexpected and occur after you have purchased your policy. In these situations, benefits like Trip Cancellation, Trip Disruption, or Overseas Emergency Medical and Hospital Expenses may apply, provided the claim meets the policy terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions.

If the natural disaster was known, forecast, or already impacting your destination before you purchased your policy, related claims are generally not covered. Cover also depends on whether you take reasonable steps to avoid or minimise your loss, and whether the event falls within the policy conditions.

Every claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be paid if it meets the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before you travel.
