What is the Snow Sports Plus policy and what does it cover?

The Snow Sports Plus policy is an optional cover available under Fast Cover Travel Insurance for travellers aged 69 years and under at the time of policy issue who plan to participate in certain snow sports activities. To be eligible, the Snow Sports Plus option must be selected at the time of purchase and listed on your Certificate of Insurance. 

This policy provides cover for a variety of recreational and specialised snow sports activities, subject to the terms, conditions, and exclusions outlined in the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS). 

Recreational Snow Sports Activities

  • Recreational skiing and snowboarding. 
  • Big foot skiing and snowboarding. 
  • Cross-country skiing and snowboarding (along a designated cross-country ski route only). 
  • Ice skating, ice hockey (non-competitive). 
  • Lugeing on ice (provided by a commercial operator and available to the general public only). 
  • Mono skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing. 
  • Terrain Park skiing and snowboarding (areas available to the general public only). 
  • Tobogganing.

Specialized Snow Sports Activities (Covered only with a Professional Instructor): 

  • Off-piste skiing or snowboarding. 
  • Backcountry skiing and snowboarding. 
  • Cat skiing and snowboarding. 
  • Glacier skiing and snowboarding. 
  • Heli-skiing and snowboarding (provided by a commercial operator and available to the general public only) 

It is important to be aware of important cover conditions, as well as exclusions that may apply, including but not limited to: 

  • No cover for ski or snowboard racing (including training), acrobatics, freestyle, or competition. 
  • No cover for participating in backcountry, cat, glacier, or heli-skiing or snowboarding without a professional instructor, or cross-country skiing outside designated routes; bobsleighing; parascending (over snow). 
  • No cover if you ski or snowboard in violation of the regulations published by the ski resort 
  • No cover if you participate in snow sports in a professional capacity. 
  • No cover if you are engaging in covered snow sports  

    outside the period 15th December to 15th April in Northern Hemisphere resorts, and 15th June to 30th September in Southern Hemisphere resorts. This exclusion will not apply to those resorts and heli-skiing operators which are open outside these time periods and have sufficient snow for normal skiing activities.
