Am I covered for cancellation if I can't go on my hike because my hiking gear is damaged?

Hiking up to 3000m in altitude:

Yes, you can claim for the cancellation costs of your prebooked hike, and for damage to your hiking gear, if you're not able to go on your hike because your hiking gear is accidentally damaged.

Hiking up to 6000m in altitude:

  • You must take out the Adventure Pack to be covered to hike up to 6000m in altitude.
  • If you have the Adventure Pack, you can claim for the cancellation costs of your prebooked hike up to 6000m, and damage to your hiking hear, if you're not able to go on your hike because your hiking gear is accidentally damaged.

Note:

There is no cover if the damage is due to normal wear and tear, or your hiking gear is damaged while in use.
